<영어 대화 가이드> 일교차가 크다 / 해가 짧아졌다 / 옷장을 정리하다

Step 1. 영작할 본문 제시

글 보시는 분들도 먼저 한번 해보세요 ㅎ.ㅎ

A: 너 추워? 그런 후드 입기에는 좀 덥지 않아?

B: 아, 나 오늘 아침에 엄청 일찍 나왔어. 오히려 좀 썰렁하던데 내가 나왔을 때는. 근데 네 말대로 지금은 좀 덥다.

A: 아, 그래. 요즘 일교차가 좀 크긴 하더라.

B: 응. 그리고 해도 확실히 짧아졌고. 여름 끝나서 너무 좋다.

A: 옷장 정리를 또 슬슬 해야겠네.

Step 2. 먼저 직접 영작 해보기

A: Are you cold? Isn't it too hot to wear this hoodie?

B: Oh, I left very early in this morning. It was kinda chilly when I left. But it's too hot now like you said.

A: Oh, yes. Temperature changes a lot during day and night these days.

B: Yup. And the sun goes back early. So great that summer is gone.

A: It's time to organize the closet again.

Step 3. 선생님 표현

A: Are you cold? Isn't it kind of warm for a hoddie like that?

B: Oh, I left really early this morning. It was actually kind of chilly when I stepped outside. But you're right. It is kind of warm now.

A: Oh, yeah. There is quite a temperature gap these days throughout the day.

B: Yeah, and the days are getting noticeably shorter too. I'm so glad summer is over.

A: I guess I sholud start (re)organizing my closet.

Step 4. 설명

1) Amber is kind of small for a retriever. 리트리버 중에서는 작은 편이다.

kind of ~ for ~ 이런 방식을 자주 사용하는 듯

그렇기 때문에, 본문의 kind of warm for a hoodie like that 이렇게 영작하셨음! 여기서 to wear a hoodie like that도 문제는 없지만!!! 단순하게 for a hoodie라고만 해도 OK

2) 오히려, 예상과 다르게의 의미를 줄 때는 actually!

3) 생각하지 못한 표현: step outside

leave (과거형 left)는 출발, 집에서 나오는 거, 출발하는거, 떠나는 거

step outside는 조금 더 그 순간, 밖으로 나왔을 때의 순간을 강조하는 뉘앙스

4) There is quite a gap / There is quite a big gap / There is quite a temperature gap

There is quite a () gap 이렇게 말할 수도 있고, There is quite a gap between A and B 이렇게 말할 수도 있음

5) 해 질 때 sun으로 표현 안 함!! days and nights / during the day

여기서 days는 낮 시간대를 의미!

현재 진행형으로 표현한 이유?! 한국어로 표현할 때 자연스러운 표현이 있는 것처럼, 영어도 자연스러운 표현이 있다!

6) I guess 그래야겠네..(얘기 들어보니 지금 내가 드는 생각이니까 약간의 불확실성 포함)

I should start 시작해야겠네..

슬슬 해야겠네..라는 뉘앙스에는 조금씩 시작하는 뉘앙스가 있으니 start ving로 표현하심
